Go Deeper Into Space
Space Discovery Camp engages students in grades 9–12 with STEM experiences centered on engineering, robotics, technology, and space exploration. Students investigate concepts related to aerospace engineering, programming, satellites, robotics, and the planning involved in space missions. Hands-on activities provide opportunities to apply ideas, work through challenges, and examine how different STEM disciplines contribute to exploration beyond Earth. Collaboration and communication encourage students to exchange perspectives while approaching problems with creativity and curiosity. The experience also introduces learners to areas of the space industry, giving them a broader view of how their STEM interests can connect with future possibilities.

- Aerospace Engineering: Explore engineering concepts related to aircraft and spacecraft while examining how science, design, and problem-solving contribute to aerospace technology.
- Advanced Robotics: Investigate robotics through more complex activities that encourage students to consider how robotic systems can support exploration and mission tasks.

What the Camp Experience Looks Like
Students take an active role in exploring STEM through hands-on activities, technical concepts, and space-inspired challenges. They can experiment with ideas, collaborate with peers, communicate their thinking, and consider different approaches to solving problems. With “No idea is a bad idea” as part of the camp philosophy, students are encouraged to think beyond familiar answers and explore where curiosity, technology, and innovation can lead.
Program Support & Partnerships
Pathway to Space Camp is funded in part through the New Mexico Legislature, with program development support from the 21st Century Academic Enrichment Programs and the Institute of Competition Sciences. These contributions support educational content and resources that encourage STEM learning, critical thinking, and active exploration.
The program also receives support from the New Mexico Space Grant Consortium (NMSGC), part of NASA’s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program. Through this connection, students can engage with resources and perspectives related to space science and technology while learning more about the fields that contribute to space exploration.
Together, these resources and program relationships help Pathway to Space Camp expand students’ exposure to STEM and encourage them to explore science, technology, engineering, and future possibilities in the space industry.
